If you are a dancer from a country that is exempt from South African visa requirements (i.e. your country is included on the list attached), and you intend to work at Mavericks for no longer than 6 months:

• Mavericks will send you a relevant letter confirming your contract with the club
• You must book a return flight. Upon arrival at the port of entry to South Africa, you will present the letter to the immigration officer, who will issue you with a permit allowing you to work, valid for between 30 and 90 days - along with the required authorisation to work.
• You may apply to extend your permit for a further 90 days. Mavericks’ management will fully assist you and apply for the visa extension on your behalf, should you wish to extend your contract.

If your country is not on the list of countries visa free for South Africa, and you wish to work as a dancer at Mavericks, you need to apply for visa at the nearest South African Embassy or Consulate. Mavericks will send you a complete package of documents required to obtain work authorization under Section 11(2) of the Immigration act, including but not limited to:

• Contract
• Letter of Accommodation
• Letter of Financial Guarantee, and
• Supporting letters to the consulate.
• Visa Application Form (BI-84)

From your side, you must prepare the following documents:
• Birth certificate , translated into English
• Certificate of clear criminal record
• Radiological report and Medical certificate, showing you are in good physical and mental health
• You should book a flight to South Africa and provide a copy of the reservation to the Consulate

Once you have collected all necessary documents, you must apply for visa at the nearest consulate and pay the visa fee (R 425 or $ 65). The visa application process takes 5 business days. You will be granted a visa for 90 days, which can be extended for further 90 days, for a total period of stay no more than 180 days.

There is a charge of R3000 ($428) for the permit application which Mavericks will pay for you in advance and you must repay Mavericks once you have started working.
